Why do you suppose that central bankers are so stupid that they collectively want to shoot themselves in the feet? What possible, sane, rational motive can they have to drive down the value of their prime reserve asset?? I think there is far too much mindless, parroting comment along the lines that CBs want to drive down the POG.
I can't recall the web site of the CBs' reserves - but if someone can drag it up and post it you will see how implausible the argument for self-destruction is. Yet it gets repeated ad nauseum. d
