.COMFAX ANNOUNCES PREMIERE Partnership with EarthLink to Offer Free
Unified Messaging to EarthLink Members

Business Wire

Business Editors

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 23, 1999--.comfax ("dot-com-fax"), a leading Internet fax
company, today announced a Premiere Partnership agreement with EarthLink (NASDAQ: ELNK), a
leading Internet service provider, to provide .comfax's MessageClick unified messaging services free
to EarthLink members. MessageClick (www.MessageClick.com), which combines voicemail and fax
with the convenience of email, will be the exclusive Internet fax/voicemail service for EarthLink's 1.3
million members.

MessageClick is a Web-based service that offers users a unique voicemail/fax phone number that
enables them to receive private voicemail and faxes in their existing email accounts. MessageClick
targets mobile professionals, small business/home office workers and students who are seeking more
efficient, reliable and affordable ways to receive voicemail and faxes remotely -- all in one place.

"EarthLink has always been committed to providing its members with the most innovative and
productive tools, so we're pleased to offer MessageClick as a valuable member benefit," said Howard
Lefkowitz, vice president of business development and Internet marketing at EarthLink.
"MessageClick is a practical and easy-to-use tool for EarthLink members to effectively communicate
over the Internet."

"We're pleased to be selected as one of EarthLink's Premiere Partners because it not only opens the
door to easier messaging solutions for EarthLink's members, it also places .comfax with the best
brands on the Net in a proven and successful partner marketing program," said Ben Feder, CEO and
president of .comfax. ".comfax's unified messaging, MessageClick, is an example of how the Internet
has changed the way we work and communicate."

The new service will be available to EarthLink members through their Personal Start Page - the highly
customizable default launch page utilized by most EarthLink members. MessageClick voicemails and
faxes look like regular emails with attachments. Faxes are opened with standard imaging software
(which is included in most computers) and voicemail messages are received as compressed RealAudio
files.

.comfax will continue to offer fee-based faxing services for users who wish to send faxes or who
prefer 800 toll-free inbound fax numbers. In addition, .comfax plans to introduce an array of new
premium messaging services by the end of the year.
