Wasn't really a jab at Reagan, as I just pointed out to bp, though I do have reasons to dislike him, many of which would be pretty meaningless to someone who hadn't lived in this country. I was describing a natural event which I've observed on numerous occasions: there are people who are at their funniest when they are hurt (I'm one of them, BTW), and it has less to do with bravery than it does to do with body chemistry.
