<<I would go further than just be leery with Q using its cash (or stock) to purchase COMS' Palm Division. It reminds me of Comapq's buying DEC. It may not have been the source of Compaq's fall, but it was at the very least a distraction from much more important issues. Q has the rights to use the Palm and that's all they need. IMO Q's management needs to focus on higher return areas: staying ahead on the technology, improving phone margins, building powerful alliances, etc.>>

Good point re: purchase of Coms. Further point re: margins applies. Can you (or anyone else) tell me Qcom's approximate gross and net margins on its various but individual main lines of business (or point me in a direction where I can pull it out)? Seems that whatever direction the Q goes with developing its business and use of funds, margin improvement would be key; considering, of course, that investment in a low margin alternative can stimulate higher margin activity elsewhere in the business.
