Since the topic of biologists has come up, I've had an interesting experience in talking to several. They are so tied into the idea of incrementally extending survival rates, that they dismiss the possibility of a cure without consideration. History suggests that when cancer is finally cured it will be sudden, and by some breakthrough treatment, not by the slow process of extending life expectancy a few weeks at a time. I have no idea if what ENMD is doing will work, but when a cure comes, I expect that it will burst on the scene in much the same way, and amid as much disbelief as ENMD. If nothing else, what we are witnessing in ENMD right now is preparation to what we will witness when a cure is finally found.
