Just to offer an intelligent counterpoint to CH, yes, Reagan made mistakes in the Philippines. I have no idea whether he was getting good advice from the State Department and the CIA, or whomever, and just ignoring it, or whether he was getting bad advice. The fact that he did some things right doesn't excuse the fact that he did some things wrong, and the fact that he did some things wrong doesn't change the fact that he did some things right. And I am now going to log off and let you guys have a fun time bashing each other intemperately, because no one on earth but me agrees with the above sentence, I think.
