Gerald,
Good analysis. The common theme in what you are saying is to establish the right marketing channels for each product. This needs to be augmented with rationalizing which products you focus on. And there you pour all your energies.
Let's not forget two very significant factors;
1-Superconductivity makes possible certain applications that are not possible without it. SMES, being a case in point.
2-Superconductivity is not restricted to one industry and the growth of that industry alone. It hits across so many diverse industries.
Each of those factors on its own is a manager's dream to find growth potential. However, their combination together can lead the "kid in a candy store syndrome"
To get anywhere, IMG needs to rationalize its efforts and focus its direction.
Just take a look at the AMSC model. Focusing on one product at a time, establishing a program of development for each product, and delivering on every milestone. That's the way to do it.
