Michael--TA is a sickness in that it tends to make you focus your attention away from what is important (long term tax free compounding) and toward what is not so important (the trees waveing in the breeze). So long as brokers earn their living on commissions from tradeing, TA will be part of their stock and trade BS. And, let's face it, buying and selling is much more exciting than just letting your money lay there and earn 30% to 100% per year (boreing as hell). We all have an urge to participate and add something--that's why cake mix makers often have the cook add a fresh egg to the mix. Cooks just feel better about the cake if they are asked to add something. JohnG
