hey pw,

i set my pc clock by the opening bell on the floor of the nyse. and i have two clocks side by side on the wall next to my monitor, set for east coast time and west coast time. you may be easily amused, but i'm easily confused.

btw, i did some more cool stuff in norton systemworks just a few minutes ago. i opened clean sweep and ran a registry sweep on both pc's. of the 5,000+ file references found on one pc, 492 were not matched. 210 were 'selected' by clean sweep, (given the green light) for removal. i have the auto backup set, in case something screws up i can recover it from recycle bin. so i printed out the invalid registry entries (why? i don't know) then clicked the 'clean' button. whooosh! gone. i moved over to the other puter and ran the same registry sweep (i recently put systemworks on that machine too). it found 171 unmatched file references and 'selected' 50 of them as green light specials. whooosh. gone.

i also started looking at the duplicate files sweep results, but was taken aback by the numbers. guess i'll buckle down and go through them one of these fine days. most of them had yellow caution lights denoting further scrutiny recommended before deletion. there's even an 'advise' button to click that tells you more about the file and a 'link' button that tells you what files (if any) have been using the duplicate. neat.

my comfort level with systemworks is growing all the time. it is such a good utility.

:)
