(Nasdaq: VIDA - news) announced today that it has realigned the existing sales organization to expand it sales efforts and designated eight (8) Account Specialists focusing on new business development. The Company has increased efforts to build product utilization, increase consumer awareness and accelerate the establishment of TUNA-trained physicians. VidaMed's TUNA (Transurethral Needle Ablation) System treats symptoms associated with BPH (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia), commonly referred to as enlarged prostate disease.
The Company said that the Account Specialists would provide marketing assistance to urologists at the local level. They will assist urologists to locate men with prostate health concerns though advertising, health fairs, and information resources available through the Internet. Additionally, the Account Specialists will help identify local family practitioners that treat men seeking drug treatment for enlarged prostate through their primary care physicians.
