I agree... change of name and cusip number does not cause a short squeese unless the people who are short have their door knocked on by the NASD (I would sure find it difficult sleeping at night if I was told to replace the pre-consolidation stock when I knew that I had sold most of it)... But... at the very least a name change and new certificates will have the net (100% absolute) affect of determing the precise number of shares out and only allow those shares to trade... So... if it is true that the company has been buying shares after the consolidation with the intent of cleaning the stock up for future promotion based on a financing and development of a communication business, then I am hoping the downside risk is small and the upside potential is much larger than its current price of $0.10...
