Engineer or Others ** RE The FCC's (October 1, 2001) mandated
enhance 911 emergency wireless services ** ---

It seems to me that this is a necessary, and potentially lucrative,
area or technology that Qualcomm must address.
However I am having difficulty locating any of this subject
information on Q's web site.

Does anyone know if Q has participated in the FCC Roundtable on this
subject ? RE biz.yahoo.com
And If they have not, why have they not done so ?

If I am correct, all cell phone users, (using any/all types of
handsets) must be located within a few meters, whenever they dial 911.

It is my understanding that --
Positioning at its best, will give users access to "Yellow Page"
and other important information, in or around most major cities.
Those who supply this service (through hardware and software)
will benefit financially.

If one wishes more detailed information, it is available at the
TNOR and USWC sites. (I do not hold any shares in either of
these companies. )

I would appreciate any opinions on this technology, and any discussion of the future prospects (for Qualcomm) in this area.

Mardy.
