We see this totally differently. I was a biologist. I am pro-earth- humans are one part of that, but pro- human? What does that mean? DDT would not be a boon if it wiped out beneficial insects as well, now would it? The objection to DDT was not just cancer- it is a broad spectrum killer- not a good thing. To really solve these problems we should never have interfered at all and left these countries to the diseases that kept their populations down, because now famines have to do it. Wipe out more pests, and you will have more famines. Which you will solve by...buring more rainforest to yield ground not suitable for farming?
