I was surprised by how poorly VOYN did as well. Both IPO Spotlight and IPO Pros ranked it highly.

I'm basically a buy and hold investor, so I don't trade very much. I probably do on average 5-10 trades per year in an account of about $275K. My guess is that trading activity is an important factor, as that is how they make money. I also wonder what their true policy is regarding flipping. I also hold PFCB, NESY, MMXI, and NASC. I've never sold an IPO partly out of fear of being cut off, but fortunately I've made money on all of them. I wish they would have a firm rule like Wit, but my guess is that they leave their policy vague in order to allow moderate flipping by high account balance, high trading fee customers that they don't want to alienate.

One big plus for them is that they don't make you commit your life to getting IPOs like Wit does. With DLJ you have plenty of time to express interest, you generally know when the offering is going to price, and they give you a reasonable timeframe in which to confirm.
