Merely "Mental", Ron? There are a lot of brilliant programmers, engineers, software and hardware developers who would disagree

And there are quite a few that aren't rarebird. Besides, programmers aren't infallible. After all, aren't they the same ones who got us into this mess to begin with??

My wife has been doing Y2K IV&V work for the past 12 months, including end-to-end testing with suppliers. I won't name the company/agency, but they aren't the largest, nor are they the smallest.

And some of the crap I've seen written about that company/agency hardly mirrors what she's seeing, nor what her programmers/IT managers are telling her. They are currently using the system they will be using in 2000 and beyond.

And rarebird, calling someone a polly-anna is hardly dialogue. It's demagogic manipulation of people's emotions in attempting to exclude scenarios alternative to complete and utter chaos.

All I want to see is people engaging in preparations without the unecessary hysteria.

Is that too much to ask?
