"Do you find it stranger that the co will never make a profit and folks are starting to have that dawn on their thick skulls?

Nobody really believes this co is worth 8 billion dollars."

First, Victor, let me acknowledge your first post to me that doesn't contain some insults directed at me. Thick skulls it perfectly fine with me.

We just disagree on the potential for profits, Victor. I think that amzn will be one of a very few companies that creates a successful virtual retail empire. Maybe the only one. The way they're doing it is probably the only way it could work. After all, how could they expand rapidly in a virtual retail field and have been profitable already. Bezos says profitability will be delayed until each business matures. If this isn't a pipe dream, and it could be, they should be able to tell us that the book and video business is profitable by 2002. Any longer is much too long. I am using that date because growth should be down to low double digits in that area by then.

The mc is about 18 now I think. How in heck do we justify an 18 billion cap on a retailer!? Pretty tough. We have to assume enormous forward growth leading to 50 billion in sales within 5 years. I am dumb enough to think this could happen, and I think it will give it a cap of 100 billion by then. Eventually it will have to sell at a pe of about 20 and a p/s of less than 2. They have a helluva rough road to climb. Anyone who thinks it is a sure thing is nuts. CSCO is a sure thing.
