I do the same.Your modification sounds logical...at least I understand it...and it would be a welcome improvement. However.... I'll just hang back awhile to see if you trip any wires, if that's ok...

Let's see...if:

Floppy drive= A
Main HD= C
CD-ROM,et al=D
Zip or Jaz = E
Secondary HD= F

I seem to remember that you can call it whatever you wish, but any reason to go all of the way to "I"?
