<Do you know where they are sold?>

Anyplace that sells camping equipment. Many chain discount stores carry it (Target, Wal-Mart, Academy, etc.)

I'd check out a discount store first. Plus, I need to find out where to get the extra lights.

Oooh ... just realized ... My Coleman lantern doesn't actually have a u-shaped light. [I just dragged it into my office.] It has one plug-in lighting unit with 4 small fluorescent tubes. Has a Low and High light option. Plus a yellow night light.

Wish I could give you the model number, but I'm sorry - I can't find the spec sheet. It does have a bright yellow sticker "BRIGHTEST fluorescent Lantern available". I got mine on sale for about $29 (including light, but not the batteries).

Plus I made a mistake when I said it took 4 D-batteries. Only 4 batteries are visible. However, I just pulled one out, and realized 4 were hidden in the back of the base. The unit requires 8 D-batteries. [Remember - get generic batteries. They're as good as Duracel and Eveready, and a lot cheaper.]

What you might want to do is first go to a camping store, if you have one in your area. Ask the salesmen about various Coleman models - and the light fixtures.

Then buy at the discount store.
