For my sister, while there was some drying as pointed out by kiwi, it was soreness in her joints that bothered her the most but not enough to stop using Accutane. As a teenager she was willing to put up with the side effects because of its tremendous benefits. Accutane is also relatively expensive. It was about $200/month as I recall.
