Internet cafes have been around for quite awhile, but you have to pay to use them ($8/hr or something).

I don't think it would work at all for Amazon to offer free internet terminals for public use (for ex. at a mall dept store) to browse the www: 15-year old girl to mother: "I'm going to stop here and use an Amazon terminal to browse the www--meet me back here in 4 hours!" -GG-
