Why wouldn't Wal-Mart outsource the technical aspects of their web-site?

There are a ton of companies standing by ready to provide this service. One obvious pick might be IBM. Alotta geeks there. :-). But OTOH, its not like WMT doesn't have computers--these are folks who have mastered the supply chain by data-warehouse mining. Wasn't it Amazon who hired former Wal-mart IT dept execs?

If I were a betting man, I would bet that Wal-Mart does just fine with it's web site. It's been out there quite awhile, now WMT needs to do is bolster it up to work smarter (which they're doing), then start promoting it heavily.
