Mohan,
Hi!!!

RE: With such differing business models and market focus, head-to-head competition between Dell and Legend isn't on the agenda, for now. But rapid growth doesn't necessarily mean guaranteed profit, and Dell's model may well start squeezing margins on its competitors long before the company builds major market share. The experience of the U.S. and Europe--two markets that contributed to Dell's standing as the world's No. 2 computer supplier--has been that despite strong demand, selling PCs is still an incredibly competitive business. If China turns out like other PC markets, then a showdown between China's Legend and global industry leader Dell lies ahead.

THANKS SO MUCH...You obviously know how much the CHINA story fascinates me...Purchased my largest % of DELL in Jan.97 on the news of DELL's plans for CHINA...I know that one day the Chinese market will be #2 in DELL's revenue behind USA...The Chinese culture is perfect for DELL's culture..Will be very fascinating to watch this story between DELL and Legend unfold...
Kevin Rollins told me in June at Chelsea Pier NYC that CHINA was doing very well...IMO CHINA will soon become a significant factor in the PE...Let's listen during this quarter's conference call...Hope DELL has a great quarter there and they finally "brag" a little about their success there..The prediction last August by Mort "CHINA will be our #2 market within five years"...and now Michael re-iterating this...
Still drooling...
:o)

Best, Kemble
