CB, from all the wrecks that happened to new drivers in my part of AL, that doesn't surprise me. It went on all the time. Most the wrecks seemed to be from going too fast on a curve, and pulling out into traffic. I don't think it can stressed too much with new drivers to underestimate how fast you can go on curves, and overestimate how much time you need to merge/cross a road/turn into oncoming traffic/etc, until they have a good feel for those things, and better control of a car. It got down right depressing to see all the wreaths dotting the roads there.
