Al:

So much for me getting out and about on Sunday morning. I have been in a talkative mood, I guess.

Regarding dram standards, my information on Drams and turnaround possibilities was discussed with managers from Korean and Japanese manufacturers. No one really nows the future so its a best guessamates game. If Rambus doesn't succeed, then the recovery timetable goes out further, that's all.

My reason for bringing it up at all was to give a more realistic timetable for ALSC operating results. Al, these guys are a two bit player in the memory business. For anyone to think otherwise is not rational. I just had a conversation with one of Micron's sales managers 3 weeks ago. He indicated Micron has decided to finish die shrinks and stay in the 16 Meg Dram arena for another 18 months. Does anyone really thnk ALSC is going to undercut Micron and make money?

Low power Sram? That market is owned by Mitsubishi, Samsung, Hundyai and Sony to name a few. They have lower power, more devices, higher speeds and fully depreciated fabs. Going to make a profit there? Not likely.

So what are they going to do? Embedded controllers is the only way. I like their new offerings. Makes sense. It'll take a 9-12 months to show results. The datacom market can afford the prices. Its an area I deal in every day.

Do not even think about this company making money on standard Sram or Dram products. You will be disappointed.

BTW, if you need any addxitional information, you are free to e-mail me: kenmuller at aol dot com. I have cluttered up enough BBs this AM.
