I know about the uptick rule, that is for the NYSE. The problem is to short a stock you have to borrow it. My understanding, which may be dated as I am an old codger, is that the long has to have the shares in a margin account bfore you can borrow them. Since BB stocks are not held in margin accounts they can't be borrowed for shorting. There was a $5 rule for shorting, too, maybe that has changed or could it have been a NASDAQ rule? Maybe I did too many psilosibin mushrooms in the 60s. Maybe it is a house rule with Scwab as I have been with them for 20 years. If I can short BB stocks I'd short JNNE every time it trades above 80 cents.
