Stereotypes are nothing upon which one should depend to judge another. But many of them are just good fun, and we ought to enjoy them.

I work with a guy with a Hispanic last name and vaguely Hispanic looks. Loves to joke and kid around. He brought in some hot salsa Friday and of course we were kidding around about hot food.

I really wanted to tell him:

You know how a Mexican knows he's dead?

His ass stops burning.

I didn't. I think he would have found it funny. I don't think it was means spirited. Just wasn't sure.
