OK, that's a fair question. They were discussing an article which was paraphrased as follows:

"But what about the recent article that suggests that the current equip cycle will peak in Q1 of 2000 and then rise again in the second half of 2000 and on to 2002?"

I was struck by the incredible hubris of anyone, journalist or not, thinking they can predict the semiconductor equipment cycle in that much detail.

I realize that I was getting carried away with gratuitous journalist-bashing, if that's what you're concerned about.
