Ed, What did you have been drinking today?<g>
Great analysis on the trends in the PC biz and its implication on MSFT. I am still not getting too bullish on MSFT yet but on dips it the best one to buy,IMHO. After all i can't park all my money in cash--gotta buy some stock in retirement accounts.
The market downturn will probably hold MSFT down. If we have Y2K related selloff (i think we will), i would bet it will be sooner rather than later. By October, my guess is that the market (especially MSFT--for the reasons you indicated) should start heading up. Of course this would occur if we get our market selloff now. If we don't, then a rally starting in October may not materialize.

In the meantime, you reminded me of a good long term short "Oracle". Looking into that one.
Had great luck on 2 out of 3 short trades on Sun Microsystems. Friday's analyst upgrades forced me to cover one with a small loss but the other 2 were good winners.
