I saved the email. Here it is:

Regrettably, Highmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield does not yet cover your
prescriptions through drugstore.com. Although our coverage base continues
to grow, some insurers, like yours, may still be unfamiliar with our new
and innovative service.

We encourage you to contact your insurance plan administrator to let him
or her know that you want the option of filling prescriptions through
drugstore.com. We invite you to forward the following e-mail message to
your plan administrator
( phone # : 800-472-1506 ) :

I recently visited drugstore.com with the intention of filling my
prescription online. I was notified that Highmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield does
not yet work with drugstore.com and would not authorize coverage for
my prescription. I urge you to add drugstore.com to your approved list
of pharmacies.

We'll notify you by e-mail if your insurer decides to cover prescriptions
through us in the future. In the meantime, your insurance company may
allow you to submit your drugstore.com receipt directly for reimbursement.
Please call your insurance plan administrator to find out if this is possible.
Also, our prices for many drugs are lower than insurance co-pays.

We hope you'll return to drugstore.com for cash prescriptions as well

I am the plan administrator so to speak. Using the major medical portion of the policy would not be practical. I also suspect that writing to my insurance carrier would not change their mind. I admit to not having done that.
