So you are this little bitty company (no offense, little in the eyes of Highmark BCBS) and DSCM wants you to contact Highmark BCBS and tell them your employees demand the ability to have their Rxs covered at DSCM, or you will look for a different medical insurance company next year. Tom, I am about as little as they come to Highmark BCBS. I even further down on the totem pole than it appears. My plan for my employees is through a group plan from an association of which my firm is a member. The Manufacturers Association of Northwest Pennsylvania permits its members to buy this group plan and has a choice of plans with Highmark BCBS. I join The Manufacturers Association of Northwest Pennsylvania and then enroll in the Highmark BCBS health insurance plan. I have 24 employees. The Manufacturers Association of Northwest Pennsylvania has 10,000 companys as members I believe. Most of these companys have 200-1000 employees. I can assure you that neither Highmark BCBS or The Manufacturers Association of Northwest Pennsylvania cares if I persoanly may have my prescriptions filled at Drugstore.com and a letter would be a total waste. It seems to me that DSCM should be offering to pay you a bounty ($100 or something like that) to make it worth your while to push for this a little. The $100 would mean nothing to me but the million members on the Highmark BCBS plan through The Manufacturers Association of Northwest Pennsylvania would me a lot to Drugstore.com. Drugstore.com needs to do what ever work is necessary here. Maybe Highmark BCBS does not know that DSCM exists, or maybe Highmark wants a big discount for sending patients to DSCM. DSCM ought to let them know that DSCM does exist. There is still a tiny pharmacy in downtown Meadville called "The Medicine shop" that is able to use this insurance plan. In fact, every pharmacy in this area can use the plan and they all, except the one independant, are large chains. Glenn
