IBM doesn't have the software. They are even getting knocked by STK on this announcement. Granted STK has the most to lose here, but they still have to deal with IBM for at least another year.
Also, I have heard that shark doesn't support Fibre Channel connectivity. How can that possibly be a move forward? Sounds like a lot of cartilage to me.
This game is won on software and EMC knows that. EMC is a fast moving target. I'm sure they're all fired up in Hopkinton with all this "new competition".
