Steven, no I did not ignore this at all, with personal exemptions and deductions I presume the first $34,000 would be tax free anyhow. The big problem with the current system is really the fact that many in the low tax brackets pay much more in "employment taxes" than in income taxes. I was shocked when I help my kid prepare his first return.
