Linden, the reason my alias is different on the beta site is a data entry error, and not a software bug, I think.

I emailed SI Bob with the info for my new alias, and he had to enter that info. I suspect he had to type it in twice, once on the regular site, once on the beta, and he got the data typed in wrong in one of them.

Some of the data is shared in the two sites, for example this post, but some apparently is not. If you update your profile, for example, you might find that it is updated in only one of the two sites. At least that is what happened to me.
