Regarding Sun Servers per N PC's I don't think you have it quite right. For a large organization using potentially 1000's of PC's there could be 3-4 internet access servers (if the company allows people to surf) or just 1 company web server (no surf) or they let an ISP host their web site. Also no reason why those boxes couldn't be CPQ-trueUNIX, CPQ-Alpha NT, IBM-AIX, Intel + NT/Linux, or HWP-HPUX.

Regarding the academic program I don't think free licenses are that signficant since every vendor has a similar program.

Server iron will be price "pressurized" just as PC iron is now. I expect to see a more level playing field and stiffer competition in the server iron arena.
