Absolutely. But I typically just trade and let the CPA deal with the rules of tax matters.

I just try to turn profit ... If I get in at .50 and see it falling I will sell and wait for the floor and accumulate. Typically by the time it moves back to where I sold out I have it as my new AMSC not the higher AMSC. SO I rarely worry about the 30 day rule.

Just bard math. Bottomline is the IRS wants to know what you gained not what you lost.
