Steven, you can "paint" my Libertarianism" with a touch of concern for avoidance of "civil unrest". There are really two separate issues, the first is what is the minimum of revenues the Federal government really needs to discharge its responsibilities, the second issue what is an equitable way to get these revenues. As for the deficit and its optimal size, that is more an economic issue than a political issue, and even Libertarians would agree that under some circumstances, the Government can time expenditures in defense, infrastructures etc. to counter economic cycles. You know, Libertarians are not "heartless ogres".
