I don't think that I hold Luddite views. I am in favor of space exploration, as well as continuing to increase our technological knowledge. Exploring space has nothing to do with CO2 warming. Most people are going to continue living on Earth, not abandoning it after it is trashed.

There are problems with collecting energy from the sun with space based solar farms and beaming that energy to earth. It is a lot different than the small scale solar generation on the space station.
