You can use any number of boxes for a reversal. Three isn't necessarily any magic reversal number.

As far a slow/fast moving...put intraday X's and 0's into 1/16ths or 1/8ths and the intraday PnF chart can really move. For example, you might try a 1\16th point move with a 2-box reversal into realtime and see what happens.
