i've been comtemplating a direct and thoughtful answer to your initial salvo. but when you get to be as old as i am, one learns mostly to watch and wait to see what else a new thread participant is going to say. it proved useful in determining 'where new posters' are coming from such as bald eagle, techo billioniare, even our latest femme fatale, lorraine just today, plus a myriad of others in the last few days. personally, i thought i'd wait and see more of who you are and how you react to people here by what you post and how you write them, before expending any kind of keypad effort or thoughtful response to your 'initial query.'
for starters, miss (or is it mrs?) holt, your initial query isn't as innocent as you purport. you laced 'your question' with emotional pre-judgementiveness, by characterizing all of us (prepared and preparing) with the perjorative "panicky. (i'm in my 70's and my wife is 68. "panicky" certainly does NOT describe us for example, but we are certainly unique in our peer group for the steps we have personally taken.)
now that you continue to show more of your particular brand of closed-mindedness and baiting, i think i'll just swallow what i was going to thoughtfully offer as a seasoned response to your assignation.
you see, your question and ron reece's unanswered question of me earlier in the weekend dovetail quite nicely and my wife and i have enjoyed the conversational repast of composing a thoughtful reply to reece which would also shed light upon your query.
you must be a YOUNG woman, karen, and of independent means if your multiple foodmarket trips are any indication. your direct fishing trip degenerating into an immediate indirect fishing trip indicates impatience and lack of sure-footedness on your part from where we sit. those of us who have more or less fully enjoyed (and continue to flourish) our 3 score and 10 years are not in near so much of a hurry for our answers.
waiting and thoughtful discussion has provided a useful tool in this y2k matter. your youthful demands will also be shelved for later revisiting.
what's for supper this evening, may i ask? |
