AMD failed to ramp-up the K6-2 to high enough speeds to compete against the Celeron. This led to a drop in the average selling price on AMD's side. This paired up with low supply created a double-whammy for AMD. In the situation with 440BX and 440ZX, the average selling price is rising. No double-whammy here. Just the opposite: price rises as supply dwindles. Tenchusatsu
