hi tom,

if you get to listen to the call would be interested in your take on the framing of the h&q question:

it goes something like this:

"? zucas(?) ward (?) (h&q): hi, congratulations on the quarter.. two questions really, the first is: can you update us on the product road map for cordless... ie windows the(?) feature phones start to ship... and do you have any new thoughts on what to do with the cash hoard? ....

answers etc are very interesting, but the window reference has a certain ambiguity to it: most likely interpretation is windows like "milestones" but the possibility would seem to exist that it might be windows like msft? (note dspg was kinda quick in cutting him off in restating the question) later in the answer(s) dspg comments:

"just for the other participants to understand.. when mr. lucas mentions the feature chip he means our project to integrate in one chip the baseband 900 MZ spread spectrum functions together with our fully integrated digital telephony, the d16... this project is planned to tap (?) out in February.. the year 2k... and to begin shipments lets say in the second quarter of the year 2k..."

and

"i believe that those that really follow us very closely, know that we prefer to stay right now within the telephony business... but as we add (?) the wireless, the cordless telephony, we are working now on expanding it also into the ip telephony... ip telephony is a very very broad area and will probably take off very rapidly in the years to come... and there is no question that we are planning to be a major player there... for the time being we are thinking only about being a chip supplier .. namely supplier of ic's.. and right now we are developing things in the area of client ip telephony chips.. "

and

"when igal mentions chip suppliers, we mean not only the silicon, but chips with embedded software that goes with it... so we plan to deliver full solutions on a chip... for niches in the ip telephony... this is a new area where we want to expand in the years to come...

btw thought the call was great..
