For my favorite companies, I use both a trade and a hold position.

The guy at Merrill is buried in dogma. Again, I sold AMGN at 17.

Pre-split, pre-split, pre-split, and pre-split. Perhaps I've lost track, and there's been another split. Let's put it this way.... I tucked my nice profit away at a market cap of about $170 million. That's why I held AGPH, a nice lesson to have learned.
