Scumbria: Maybe we just need to compare roadmaps, including the bumps along the way. Those who give you simple answers to your question may not fully understand the situation.

I hold Intel because Intel plans the future and share the plans with investors, rather than simply saying things will get better. Intel has shown an extraordinary ability to make changes when necessary and that gives me confidence.

If I led you to believe I have all the answers, I didn't mean to. I just think that a company that can succeed in the here and now (and all the years I've been holding and buying) while committing to new products and new markets, is confident enough to admit that the future is constantly changing. I guess I'm counting on Intel to do the zigging and zagging for me. I do not believe I have a better grasp of the industry than the leaders at Intel. Pretty simple.

In contrast, I believe AMD is scrambling now and while doing so, is unable to plan very far out. If you have information to share regarding AMD's plans for years to come, and your source of confidence in those plans, please let me know.

Not trying to be argumentative here. Guess I'm a better lurker than poster <g>.
