When you dispose of the Federal agencies, what happens to NASA? Surely you realize that if the government bails out of space research and exploration, it will cease entirely. The private sector isn't going to pick it up in any meaningful way. The costs are too high, the potential profits too remote; America's corporate culture is wedded to next year's bottom line, not to the prospect of interplanetary adventure.

How do you expect to mine an asteroid profitably when most mining operations on earth are in the red?
