Karen- Everyone has to assess their degree of preparation needs....
Personally I have 100 plus gals of bottled water, few hundred canned goods, lots of misc. goodies in case of worst case scenarios unfolding such as wife wanted tons of toilet paper < LOL > , coleman camping shower, lanterns, batteries, candles, first aid stuff, personal hygiene stuff, etc. etc. etc. Everyone has to assess a self defense strategy for their level of comfort. I am trying to decide what water filter system to get- a very important item I am getting asap. If it goes beyond my hundred gals. of bottled water I will catch rain from gutters and filter it. I will still be on lookout for odds and ends but am fairly comfortable-- if worst case scenarios happen no amount of preparation is enough but I feel I am in the ballpark of prudent action. No one can overprepare though as long as they do it calmly and within their means.
