More...for Thursday's July 29 ECI (and gdp) announcements:

Q1:99 0.4%
Q2:99 0.8% consensus

From Humphrey Hawkins report:

Labor Costs and Productivity
Growth in hourly compensation, which had been on an upward trend since 1995, appears to have leveled off and, by some measures, has slowed in the past year. According to the employment cost index (ECI), hourly compensation costs increased 3 percent over the twelve months ended in March, down from 3-1/2 percent over the preceding twelve-month period...

...A second measure of hourly compensation--the Bureau of Labor Statistics' measure of compensation per hour in the nonfarm business sector, which is derived from compensation information from the national accounts--has been rising more rapidly than the ECI in the past few years and has also decelerated less so far this year.
