Are there any Urologists and other M.D.s lurking on this thread that could possibly address potential issues I forsee involving the Reliance air inflatable insert or even Rochester Medical's fluid inflatable insert?

It is my understanding that plastic devices such as inflatable inserts could tend to distort the natural shape of the urethra and also chafe and abrade the delicate mucousal and vesiclular tissues of the urethra during periods of exercise such as walking and running. I would also think that any inflatable insert whether it be air or liquid based would stretch the urethra and bladder neck muscles resulting in a loss of muscle tone and an aggravation the underlying condition.

I raise these questions since I am not aware of any long-term studies on this type of device since the concept is so new. And very long-term Uromed investors will need answers to these questions in addition to watching for the patient acceptance rate.

It appears to me these inflatable devices will be used in the interim by patients who are undergoing therapy using pelvic floor stimulators such as those manufactured by Empi (EMPI). So it is very possible that the repeat use of these inflatable devices may not last for an extended time, except maybe by the most chronic patients.

I can also be emailed at dspang@sprintmail.com and I shall keep your identity private. Thanks in advance.

Regards,
David Spang
