mp3.com (mppp) - i think digitally-delivered music will win the day and that mp3.com has a chance to be at the center of that world

keep in mind a few risks: mp3 as a format is not the superior audio format (it cuts the treble out to save file size)

and in a broadband world file size won't matter as much so other formats (audio quality) may become favored

mp3.com's challenge is to be a digital music supercenter and not a mp3 platform play

i think they have a chance to do just that

i foresee fully 5% of all music sales being web-based in a few short years (about $2.5 billion globally)

and mp3.com (and sites like this) may become the equivalent of your record store, radio station, billboard chart, soundscan, artist community, record label -- all in one
