Miner does a good job focusing on the practical and leaving behind the theory. Lots of examples. Other features I liked were rule based Elliot waves (pages I took out and leave on my desk), he does not try and force wave counts (if it does not fit the rules then it is not a Ewave), and those amazing Fib ratios. I bought the software and I have got to tell you that the virtual dust is collecting on my copy of Tradestation and Metastock. The software is not perfect, as far as user friendly (new version on its way out), but it does a great job of taking most of the work out of what he teaches.

Interestly, he offers a money back guarantee on his book. That takes some balls and confidence in what he offers.

I have spent (blown) alot of money on "educational" materials and this my deserted island setup:
Dynamic Trader software and book. Miner
Hit and Run Trading I & II. Cooper
DiNapoli Levels. DiNapoli
Candlesticks. Nisson
Stock Patterns for Daytrading. Rudd
Quotes Plus (end of day and scanning)
Quote.com (intraday)

Unfortunately that list is made up of some pricey stuff and Cooper's books are thin on pages, but there is alot of good info packed in those books for HOW I TRADE. Everyone has to find what fits THEIR trading style and unfortunately that means spending money. No different than going to college and taking a variety of courses. But there is alot of trash out there that is not worth a nickel. That is what we can help each other avoid. By the way I liked Trader Vic's books. Good broad look at things.
