Mark, on the subject of Hillary:
Some of it is that she has the air of a prima donna without the charisma, so that it seems kookie that she expects to be the center of attention. Some of it is that she is sanctimonious, while at the same time living the life of yuppie scum. The nadir is when it came out that she was deducting full value for contributing old underwear to the Salvation Army (or was it Goodwill?). Who does that? Who is that nuts? Also, she makes a big deal out of being a strong, independent woman, when she has traded on her husbands offices much of her professional life, representing corporate clients before state boards and courts manned by her husband's appointees. It goes beyond ordinary hypocrisy, because she is so self- righteous. Then, there is the kookiness of her attack on parental rights, which would take us well beyond current laws against abuse or neglect, and essentially invite children to sue their parents on various grounds. Then, there is the arrogance of the health care task force, and its violation of sunshine laws which she had supported as a liberal, and the suspicion that she would do anything to win, if she could get away with it....Will this do? |
